2018 Athletics World Cup Trophy and Medals

In 2018, following on from Olympic Successes, UK Athletics conceived a new athletics competition named The Athletics World Cup. The inaugural edition featured eight national teams based on world rankings, with each team entering one athlete per event, and points gained based on finishing position. The competition focused on an overall team prize, the Platinum Trophy and Platinum team medals.

Heirloom London was called in to provide technical support and leadership on the production of a platinum trophy, a world first. We ended up leading the conceptualisation of a trophy in a very short timeframe, the fabrication route for production and the design and production of the platinum champions medals.

Our technical knowledge and global relationships were deployed to ensure the right personnel to create this object.  This was a demanding project that we delivered over a very short timescale to stunning results.
